Carta del Dr. St-Roseman a los padres en español

March 26, 2020

Good Evening Parents/families,

I hope you are doing well, and your loved ones are safe and healthy.  Please remind students to maintain social distance and to wash their hands frequently.  It is important to us that you are all safe and following the guidelines to protect yourselves during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Oxford Day Academy Online Courses

I am happy to announce that the roll out of our online classes this week went well.  Most students were actively engaged in their courses. Please remind students to log in at least 5 minutes before the start of each class.  We must also be able to see your student’s face when they log in online for them to receive credit for the class. Continue to visit the Oxford Day Academy website (see Covid-19) for the most updated information.  We will also post the assignments students are to be working on during their Spring Break. If you would like to observe any of your student’s online courses, please let their teachers know to send you a link inviting you to the class.

School Closure until May 1

San Mateo County, in partnership with five other Bay Area counties has made the decision that school closures should be extended through Friday, May 1st.  We will continue with remote (online) instruction and the class schedule that began on Monday, March 23rd.

Spring Break March 30 – April 3

There will be no online classes the week of Spring Break, however, all Oxford Day Academy students have been assigned work for them to do during their Spring break.  Please make sure your student continues to work on their class assignments during their Spring break.

Monthly Parent Meeting

We can meet virtually on April 18 from 10:00am – 11:00am for our monthly parent meeting.  I am quite sure many of you have an abundance of questions you need answered. Please let Ms. Maggie or Ms. Karla know if you would like to join me in a virtual meeting.  Once I know how many parents are interested, I will send out a link for a virtual meeting. If you would like to have a virtual meeting with me at a different time, please let me know what day and time.

Free Meals

We have posted on our website a variety of places where students and families can receive free meal. Please see the message below from Boys and Girls Club (BGCP).

BGCP is serving dinner! From 6pm-7pm, Monday-Friday, BGCP will be serving hot dinners to any and all in the community from the East Palo Alto Clubhouse (2031 Pulgas Avenue). Today, we were proud to cook, package, and distribute 500 meals to folks, and couldn’t be more excited to continue.

With Ravenswood providing breakfast and lunch, we hope that this service can help to ensure our families are nourished and healthy in this troubling time. We will do our best to meet demand, so please let people know we’re here! People can drive or walk up, request as many pre-packaged meals as they need, and head home to their families. On Fridays, we’ll also have pre-packaged boxes from Second Harvest Food Bank of dry goods and produce to help people through the weekends.

Wishing you well during these changing times,

Dr. St. Roseman
